Vanakkam from “ Pasumai Kulipirai" team, hope this meets you in the best of sprit and merit.
KULIPIRAI is our evergreen beautiful village in Pudukkottai
District of Tamil Nadu State, India. It expands over 1750 acres
at about 25 km towards the west of Pudukkottai and 14 km away from
Ponnamaravathi. With an aim to preserve the pride of our
historic village we began the “Pasumai Kulipirai Trust” to
exemplify Kulipirai as an Eco village. The trust was registered
on 12 th December, 2019 with 9 Trustees from all communities in
Kulipirai.
Sons and daughters of Kulipirai have been successful in
whatever we do all across the globe. While we continue to share
our heritage and culture globally, we always remain rooted to
our native Kulipirai. We exhibit our pride through frequent visits
to Kulipirai, our homeland to meet family & friends, participate
in gatherings and by showing special interests in the
development of the village.
Our Ancestors were visionaries in preparing our villages for the future. PAPAN KULAM was a great example of Rain water harvesting. But until recently, it was dysfunctional due to neglect and other competing priorities in the past
Thanks to the efforts of the PASUMAI KULIPIRAI team along with active participation from volunteers in Kulipirai, we were able to dredge PAPAN KULAM and its waterways. Even during light showers, Kulipirai recently witnessed rain water gushing into Papan kulam through all its dredged inlet channels restoring it to the glorious days and foresight of our forefathers
To drive activities of similar scale we need to get more organized with participation from more well wishers to make Kulipirai into a Model Village. So, “PASUMAI KULIPIRAI TRUST” was formed with a Vision as outlined below on December 12th, 2019 with 9 Trustees from all communities of Kulipirai
To develop Kulipirai into a model Eco village which would uplift the pride, standard of living and wellbeing of the residents and frequent visitors.
Though active Participatory process in tandem with the Panchayat, we regenerate and restore Kulipirai's social and natural environments with the goal of becoming more ecologically, socially & economically sustainable.
On discussion with experts the cost estimates for these initial projects are Rs 1.75 Crore. In
line with the vision, Pasumai Kulipirai Trust wants to play a pivotal role to kick-off the initial
set of projects via the Panchayat by utilizing State/Central Governments financial aid.
The Trust needs to contribute a minimum of 33% to 50 % of the total Project cost to the
Government Machinery. These projects will then be monitored jointly to review progress
against timeline and satisfactory completion.
It should be noted that the Cost of the Projects will be enormous if we want to execute
them ourselves without Government aid
Coronavirus (Covid 19) relief- Pasumai Kuliprai trust and Kulipirai donors distributed ration to 610 poor families. Kulipirai panchayat board team under the leadership of Mr. S. Alakappan Kulipirai Pachayat President executed this on 28th, 29th and 30th April in Kulipirai .
Pottramarai Kulam Cleaning Project - This kulam had been dry for several years. In the past couple of months the water routes to this kulam were partially cleaned. The first showers of rain, after the cleaning, filled the kulam with water.
